Maxxam™ FR Flame Retardant Formulations and Maxxam™ NHFR Non-Halogen Flame Retardant Formulations
Maxxam™ FR and NHFR flame retardant polyolefin formulations and are engineered to meet stringent flammability performance requirements. With decades of proven performance, Maxxam FR and NHFR polyolefins are an ideal choice for a variety of applications across industries including consumer, electrical and electronic, and wire and cable.
Consumer and Electrical and Electronic Applications
Standard formulations in the range provide UL 94 V-2, V-0 and 5VA flammability performance at low part thicknesses, with many grades in the portfolio offering Glow Wire Flammability Index (GWFI) at 960°C. Non-halogen materials help reduce harmful emissions and corrosiveness if burning occurs. Materials can be custom formulated with recycled PP and PE for improved recyclability.
Wire and Cable / Data and Power Connectivity Cables
For category cable insulation and cross-web applications, specific flame-retardant polypropylene formulations are available meeting UL 444 and Plenum Yellow Card ratings. Providing an FEP alternative, they offer low dielectric performance, high extrusion speeds and thin wall extrudability.
